The manufacturer dashboard compares what resellers charge for your products with your recommended retail price (RRP). Before it can show a single figure it needs three things: the price to compare with, where to look for offers, and which offers are your products. Then a scrape has to run. Open Pricing Intelligence > Manufacturer Dashboard. While the market you are viewing has no data yet, the Overview tab shows a setup card instead of figures, and the other tabs are greyed out. The card reads, for example, “2 of 4 done” and “2 steps until your first verdict”, and lists four steps. The first step that is not done is ringed; each step has a button that takes you to the page where you complete it. The checklist describes the market you are viewing (or every market, when you choose All markets). It disappears as soon as the first comparable offer is in, and the dashboard shows figures from then on.

The four steps

1

Reference price

Choose the price level resellers are compared with. The dashboard uses, in this order:
  1. the price level set in the market’s Compared against field, on the Markets page;
  2. otherwise the catalog price level marked Set as Recommended Retail Price.
The step is done once at least one tracked product has a price on that level. It then reads “Resellers are compared with the reference price” followed by the level’s name. Click Open Markets to set the level.The reference price must be in the market’s currency. Offers priced in another currency are left out of every figure. See Markets and data sources and Price levels.
2

Where to look

Add at least one data source and assign it to the market. The step lists the sources that watch the market, for example “2 sources are watching this scope.” Click Add a data source to open Data Sources with the add dialog open. See Markets and data sources.
3

Matching

Review the match suggestions for your tracked products. The step shows “N of M products matched” and, when some are still unmatched, “The other N are ignored until you review them.” It is done when you track at least one product and no suggestion waits for review. Click Review matches to open Product matching.
4

First scrape

A scraping run of the market’s data sources has to complete. Until then the step shows the next scheduled run, or “No run is scheduled.” Click Run it in Data Sources to start or schedule a run.
After the first scrape, the figures appear shortly: Omnilinker starts recalculating the dashboard about 30 seconds after each scraping run finishes, and checks every hour for anything it missed.
The Not authorised views and cards use the Authorized Seller flag on each merchant. Mark the resellers you have authorised on the Merchants page so these views mean something.

Optional: set your organisation’s time zone

The dashboard counts days (the period, the trend, contact due dates) in your organisation’s time zone. When none is set it uses UTC and says so under the page title: “Dates are in UTC: your organisation has no time zone set.” Set the time zone in Settings.

Permissions

The dashboard has its own permissions under Pricing Intelligence > Manufacturer Dashboard in the role editor. Each tab and action needs the permission shown here. A tab you have no permission for is not shown. Two actions also need Pricing Intelligence > Merchant > Update, because they change the address that messages go to:
  • editing a reseller’s contact details in the reseller record (together with Manage cases);
  • ticking Save it on the reseller record for next time when you type an address in the message dialog.

What existing roles received

When the case, promotion and settings permissions were introduced, Omnilinker granted them once to every role that could already open the dashboard:
  • Cases, Manage cases, Agreed promotions and Compliance settings went to every role with Manufacturer Dashboard;
  • Send messages to resellers went only to those roles that also had Merchant > Update. Sending e-mail to an outside address follows the power to edit resellers.
This happened once per organisation. If you revoke one of these permissions afterwards, it stays revoked. You can grant Send messages to resellers to any role by hand. See Users and roles and the Permissions reference.
