This quickstart takes you from an empty organization to the first competitor offers for your products. You put your products in the catalog, tell Omnilinker what to compare them with and where to look, match your products with the listings it finds, and run the first scrape.

Before you start

  • The pricing data provider must be set up. Omnilinker finds listings and collects offers through a pricing data provider (DataForSEO). It is configured on the Data Sources tab of the Pricing Intelligence settings group, under Administration > Settings: Enable Google Data Source is off by default, and a Provider Type and the provider’s credentials must be filled in. Until then every scrape fails. Setting it up needs the Data Source Schedule > Settings permission. See Pricing data provider.
  • You need the permissions for each page. A menu item you have no permission for is not shown. See Users and roles.

Set up your first offers

1

Put your products in the catalog

Open Catalog > Products. Click New product to add products one by one, or Data > Import products to load them from an Excel file. See Products and Importing. If your products live in an ERP, you can sync them instead: see the ERP integration overview. Then turn on Track in Pricing Intelligence for every product you want to watch. It is off for new products. You can set it on the product, for many products at once (select them, click Edit fields and use Update Pricing Intelligence Tracking), or with the Track In Pricing Intelligence column of the import file.
2

Set up price levels

Open Catalog > Price Levels and click New Price Level for each price list you keep, for example your shop price. Give each level the currency its prices are in. If you publish a recommended retail price, mark that level Set as Recommended Retail Price; only one level per organization can carry it.Then enter the prices on your products, or import them with Data > Import prices on the Products page. See Price levels.
3

Add a market

Open Pricing Intelligence > Markets and click Add market. Pick a country; its code, name and currency fill in. Use Custom for a market that is not a country. The code and currency cannot be changed later. In Compared against, choose the price level competitor offers should be measured against, such as your shop price. Leave RRP (tenant default) to use the level marked as the recommended retail price. The level must be in the market’s currency.Click Add & add a source to go straight to the next step. See Markets and data sources.
4

Add a data source

Open Pricing Intelligence > Data Sources. With no sources yet, the page shows Add your first data source with one tile per provider; otherwise click New data source. Choose Google Shopping, name the source, select its Market (required) and set the language and location to search in.Click Save. The source is created idle; you run it once your products are matched.Omnilinker collects offers through Google Shopping today. The Amazon, Ceneo and Allegro tiles create a source, but offers for them are not collected yet.
5

Match your products

Open Pricing Intelligence > Product Matching. Your tracked products are listed there. Omnilinker searches the data source for newly tracked products on its own (Auto-discovery on). To search for every product that has no match yet, click Find matches for all unmatched (N), check the estimate and click Run discovery. Searches go through the paid pricing data provider on your account, so the estimate comes first. When suggestions arrive, review them under Awaiting review: approve the listings that are your product and reject the rest. A product has no offers from a source until it is matched there. See Product matching.
6

Run the first scrape

Go back to Data Sources and click Run on the source’s row. The row shows the run’s progress, and you can expand it to see recent runs. Only matched products are scraped. To scrape regularly, click Schedules. It opens Settings, where schedules are kept on the Scheduling tab of the Pricing Intelligence group.
7

Read the offers

  • Pricing Intelligence > Offers lists every offer found, with the merchant, the price and when it was seen.
  • Pricing Intelligence > Product Overview shows each tracked product against the market: its reference price, its market position and its competitors, as a table, cards or a matrix. See Offers and product overview.
  • Pricing Intelligence > Merchants lists the competitors behind the offers. Omnilinker adds them as it finds their offers. See Merchants.
