Omnilinker can record an order’s sale on a Polish fiscal printer and give the buyer the receipt (paragon fiskalny), on paper or as an e-receipt. You issue the receipt from the order. The fiscal printer is connected to a station, a Windows PC running the Omnilinker Station app, which sends the receipt to the printer and reports back how it ended. At the end of each day with sales, the printer closes the day with a daily report.
The station’s drivers for Posnet and Novitus printers have not been verified on real printers yet. Until they are, a station reads a real fiscal printer (its model, VAT letters, check and test page) but does not record a sale on it: a receipt sent to it ends as Refused by the printer, and a daily report as Failed, with “The printer’s driver is not verified on hardware yet, so the station only reads it”. A test printer, which the station simulates, goes through the whole flow and records nothing.

How it works

A receipt goes through these steps:
  1. Someone clicks Issue receipt on an order, or issues receipts for several orders from the Orders list.
  2. The station of the chosen printer takes the receipt, usually within seconds, and sends it to the printer.
  3. The printer prints it, and the receipt number appears on the order. If the printer cannot take it now (out of paper, for example), the receipt waits and prints by itself when the printer is ready.
  4. At the end of the day, the printer’s daily report closes the day: automatically at the hour you set, or by hand from Fiscal > End of day.
Fiscal printers record PLN only. An order in another currency cannot get a receipt.

Before you start

  • Fiscal receipts are switched on for your organization; see Switching fiscal receipts on.
  • At least one paired station, on a PC that can reach the fiscal printer. See Add a station.
  • A Posnet or Novitus fiscal printer, fiscalised and with your VAT rates programmed, connected to the shop’s network or to the station’s PC by a USB or serial cable. A USB printer needs its maker’s driver on that PC.
  • The permissions you need; see Permissions.

Set up fiscal receipts

1

Add the fiscal printer to its station

Open Devices > Stations, expand the station whose PC talks to the printer, and click Add fiscal printer under Fiscal printers. Add fiscal printer on the Fiscal > Overview page takes you there too. See Add a fiscal printer.
2

Check its VAT letters

Once the station has read the printer, open its VAT rates tab and check that each of your rates has a letter. See VAT rates.
3

Check the printer

Open the Check tab to see paper, connection, fiscal state and clock, and print a test page. See Check a printer.
4

Decide how each day closes

A new printer closes its day automatically at 21:00. In the printer’s settings, change the hour under At, or clear Close the day automatically to run the daily report by hand. See End of day.
5

Set the location's receipt settings

In Devices > Stations > Locations, choose the location’s Fiscal printer, how to Send receipts as, and whether The buyer’s NIP on the receipt. See Receipt settings for a location.
6

Choose a station on each computer

Everyone who issues receipts picks the station they work at with Choose station in the top bar. Omnilinker uses it to choose the printer. See Choose your station.

The Fiscal overview page

Open Fiscal > Overview to see your receipts and printers today. The page refreshes by itself every 30 seconds.

Needs you

Needs you appears when a receipt needs a person, with how many there are. Each line names the order and the printer, shows the amount and the reason, and has Open the order: Receipts that are not sure come first, then those waiting, then the rest, oldest first. The list shows up to 50. Refused and not-printed receipts stay for 7 days, until the order gets a new receipt.

Today

Today counts, across all printers, the receipts printed, the e-receipts, the receipts waiting and those refused, and the gross amount on receipts today. “Today” is your organization’s day, in its time zone (Polish time unless your organization has its own).

Fiscal printers

One card per fiscal printer (a switched-off printer only on a day it has receipts or a report): its name and model (Not read yet until the station has read it), Test for a test printer, its health, today’s receipts printed, today’s gross and the receipts waiting, and how its day closes, for example “Daily report automatic at 21:00” or “Day closed: daily report … at …”. With no printer yet, the page says “No fiscal printers yet. Add one to a station on the Stations page.”

Permissions

The permissions are in the Fiscal receipts group in the role editor. See Users and roles. The Stations page also needs the Stations permission, and the location settings the Locations permission; see Devices permissions.
Never grant Station app (fiscal) to a person or to a role people have. Omnilinker gives it to each station’s own account when the station is paired.
An API key can never hold Issue a receipt for an order invoiced to a business, Settle “not sure” receipts, Manage fiscal printers or Search a station’s ports and network for fiscal printers: they are for people at the screen. It cannot hold Station app (fiscal) either. See API keys.

Switching fiscal receipts on

Fiscal receipts are one feature, Issue fiscal receipts for orders, in the Fiscal receipts group. It is off by default. When it is off, the Fiscal menu, the order’s receipt section and the fiscal printers on the Stations page are hidden, the Fiscal pages say “Fiscal receipts are not switched on for you.”, and no daily report runs. The same message shows when the feature is on but you lack the permission for the page. Omnilinker switches features; see Modules and feature availability. Fiscal receipts work with orders and stations, so the order management and stations features must be on too. See Why a module is missing.

What is not available yet

  • Automations cannot issue receipts. Receipts are issued from the order or in bulk from the Orders list.
  • There is no list of all receipts. Each order shows its own; Fiscal > Overview shows what needs you.
  • Choosing a different printer for one receipt. The printer comes from your station and its location; see Which printer prints the receipt.
  • Setting a product’s name for receipts. A receipt uses the line’s name as it is on the order; to change it, edit the line on the order. See Edit or remove a line.
  • Printers from makers other than Posnet and Novitus, and currencies other than PLN.
